58th Membership Appreciation and Annual Meeting
Where: The VFW Hall address is 120 VFW Road, Duson, LA 70529. (Located off Colorado Road)
When: Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 5:00 PM
Why do we celebrate? Every year, we gather to say “thank you” for choosing 705 FCU as your credit union. The evening is full of fun, an update on the credit union, and to announce the newly elected board of directors and scholarship recipients.
What: This once a year event is sure to please with Scholarship Giveaways, Door Prizes, Cash Prizes, Complimentary Gifts, and Bingo!
Grand Prize Giveaways:
Adult: $750 CASH
Kids: $150 CASH
(Only Members Eligible for Prizes)
Itinerary:
5:00 PM – Registration and Social Time
5:30 PM – Meeting Starts.
5:45 PM – Dinner (Provided by NuNu’s Cajun Market)
7:00 PM – Grand Prize Giveaway
Board of Directors Elections
Two (2) positions on the Board of Directors will be filled at this Annual Meeting. The Nominating Committee, appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, has submitted the following nominees to fill the vacancies:
Susan Cormier (Incumbent)
Susan Cormier brings more than 35 years of experience as a secretary and bookkeeper and currently works as a travel agent, helping clients plan and simplify their vacations. Her extensive background in accounting and financial management proved highly valuable during her tenure as Supervisory Committee Chairperson for 705 Federal Credit Union. Susan’s long-standing commitment to the credit union and her attention to detail reflect her dedication to promoting sound financial practices and supporting the mission of member service and accountability.
Marcus L. Harris
Marcus L. Harris serves as the Affordable Housing Development Director for SMILE Community Action Agency, overseeing initiatives across Lafayette, Iberia, and St. Martin Parishes. A licensed Real Estate Broker with over 20 years in real estate and mortgage services and 30 years in management, Marcus brings extensive expertise in business operations, project management, and community development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting from McNeese State University. He is also a motivational speaker, life coach, and author.
